JOHN HAMBURG Obituary

JOHN ROBERT HAMBURG, II
January 13, 1953, to October 16, 2025

John, a long-time resident of Nambé, passed away suddenly at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was 72 years old.
John was born in Detroit, Michigan, and lived in Niles, Illinois, Delmar, New York, and Potomac, Maryland. John attended Elmira College and the University of Maryland, before moving to New Mexico in his twenties. John began a career in the construction and building industry and was employed by Davis & Associates and Toltec Builders. He provided support for numerous building projects throughout Santa Fe, including renovations to St. Francis Cathedral and the Children's Museum of Santa Fe. John loved animals, in particular, his faithful dog Chica, and was a great rock and roll fan. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Ortiz Hamburg, his children, Elena Hamburg and Ryan Hamburg, sisters Susan Hamburg (Ron Schwartz) and Allison (Philip) Meske, two grandchildren, a great-grandson, nephews and nieces, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Hamburg, and son, John Stanley (Juan) Hamburg. The family will hold a private memorial service. Donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Soul Animal Sanctuary and Animal Humane New Mexico.
