JOSEPH AIELLO Obituary

JOSEPH DOMINIC AIELLO
FEBRUARY 11, 1982 – OCTOBER 4, 2021
Joey arrived prematurely on a night of thundersnow. He was taken from us prematurely in a senseless act of violence by a madman with a gun.
Joey loved cooking, playing his guitar and talking to everyone, and anyone, but his true essence is best summarized by a person who met him in July of this year. In her words: "I met Joseph- totally by chance- as I was packing up from playing a gig at the Cowgirl- and he was leaving his Dad's memorial. In our short exchange, I was so moved by that young man. Such a precious, soulful, sweet human. He made a lasting impression on me."
Joey would want us to remember the abundance of love he shined on all his family, and friends.
"We are living in a world, stars and dust,
Between heaven and all that surrounds us.
We're travelers here, spirits passing through,
and the love we give, is all that will endure,
Just like a rose after the rain, something beautiful remains
Tears will leave no stains, time will ease the pain
For every life that fades, something beautiful remains."
Joseph is survived by his mother, Christina Genuario-Gill, step- father Jim Gill, his brother Luke Aiello, his brother Nicholas Aiello, his niece Sophia Aiello, his many aunts, uncles, and cousins, his stepmother Mia DeSousa. He was predeceased by his father James Aiello on May 11, 2021.
A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends on Thursday, October 14.

Joe was one of the first friends I had when I switched schools to Kearney. He was the weirdest and smartest kid in class. But we got along I guess because I was weird too. We had many a good times picking on Luke and watching some crazy anime. We lived with each other later on in life got to know his family very well I considered him part of mine. There's nothing I wouldn't do for him and likewise for me or anybody else for that matter. He touched everybody's heart. Love you brother and take your time in the heavens for we shall see each other again. Until then keep jamming say hi to your dad for me and you'll always be Antonio Banderas in my eyes. My condolences Christina Luke and Jim. I'll miss you Joe.

Joe was my very first love. My highschool sweetheart. We remained friends over the years and he was one of the most unique spirits I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He never hated a soul and no matter how down on his luck he was, there was a smile on his face. He sang a song he wrote me in front of my whole family on his guitar. It was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done and I can't stand the thought of never talking to him again. We had disagreements over the years buf I just could never stay mad. Thank you for all the laughs and romantic guestures. I hope you are eternally free and at peace. Much love to you Christina.

I met Joe in 2000. I had the pleasure of cooking with him at SFCC culinary arts program. Joe was fresh out of high school and was one of the coolest cats with his blue hair. You will be missed. Until we meet again. RIP.
