JULES DE JONG Obituary
July 7, 1946 -
October 28, 2025
Jules was born in Soest, the Netherlands, in 1946 to two master artists and teachers.
He moved to Dallas and later to Santa Fe with his wife, Devon, and together they had three children: Rembrandt, Saskia, and Sebastian.
Jules was an incredible chef, artist, and handyman, but more than anything, he exuded loyalty and kindness to his loved ones and his community. He will be dearly missed.

Dear Devan and family,
We are so sorry for your loss of that wonderful man, Jules. I so enjoyed visiting with him during his-and your-dental visits over the years.... such an engaging, intelligent, and interesting person. Whether our subject of conversation was a local Santa Fe issue or the current weather on Bobcat Pass, it was always a fun conversational interlude for me, at least!
We wish you all the best as you all move forward, holding the wonderful memory of that awesome husband and father you had in your lives.

Laura and I are deeply sorry for your loss and our thoughts are with you Devon, and your family. I have lost my dear friend Jules, who I looked at truly as a buddy. From getting a cold beer delivered to us in the pool in Honduras to swimming with dolphins to a hair-raising ride down Logan Canyon on the back of the tow truck(!) in our broken down VW (Laura and Devon were up front in the cab), Jules and I always had a good time together. We will miss him deeply.
