RAYMOND VIGIL Obituary
September 1, 1934 - November 11, 2025
On Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, Raymond (Uncle Ray) Vigil met the Lord and was reunited with his beloved family and friends who passed before him.
Uncle Ray proudly served his country as a veteran and lived a life full of creativity, passion, and generosity. He was a gifted performance artist, chef, entertainer, and a phenomenal uncle. He was an active member of the Scottish Rite Temple, the Fiesta Council, and the Caballeros de Vargas. A devoted Catholic, he attended Mass faithfully every Sunday morning at Cristo Rey Church. He received the Sacrament of the Last Rites by esteemed Father Joseph Vigil.
Uncle Ray is survived by his wife, Marla Vigil of the Netherlands; his godson, Virgil Vigil, and wife, Edwina Vigil, who lovingly cared for Uncle Ray during his final stages of life, along with their children. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Uncle Ray will be remembered for his authenticity, strength, pride, and independence. He cared deeply for his friends and family, embracing each person with profound acceptance and love. His unwavering spirit and example of kindness and integrity will continue to inspire all who knew him. He lived a beautiful life for 92 years.
A Christian burial will not be held until after the holidays, with details to follow then.
