Brenda Vance Obituary
1947-2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved, Brenda Marie Vance, on September 3, 2021 while visiting family in Redding, California.
Brenda was born on April 7, 1947, in Long Island, New York to William Krisher and Joyce Raynor.
She was the oldest of five children. Three brothers and one sister. She moved to California in 1956.
Brenda married Gerald Carpenter and in 1965 she gave birth to her first son Michael (Mike) Alan Carpenter and in 1968 Richard (Rick) Gerald Carpenter was born.
It wasn't until 1982 that she found the love of her life Coy Vance while working in Solvang at Iron Art gift shop. Brenda married Coy in 1983 and they became a blended family with seven children. Brenda continued to work in Solvang at Nielsens gift shop, The Royal Copenhagen gift shop, and Rassmussen's gift shop where she had been employed for the past 28 years.
Brenda and Coy spent 12 plus years dedicating their time at the Los Alamos Valley Men's Club helping out at special events and their circle of friends continued to grow.
Brenda loved camping with her family, friends and three dogs, Tippy, Taz and Annie as well as spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the Chumash Casino with her friend Fran.
Brenda will be remembered for her uplifting spirit, energy and smile that filled every room she entered. Her love for her family and friends was genuine, unconditional and never went unnoticed.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 38 years Coy Vance, her sons Mike Carpenter of Lompoc, CA and Rick (Shelley) Carpenter of Santa Maria, CA her brother Bill (Vicky) Korte of Whittier, CA and sister Cheryl (Doug) Krisher of Lompoc, CA. Stepson Kevin (Penny) Vance of Longmont, CO, stepdaughter Denise Thrasher of Akron, OH, stepdaughter Dana (Tim) Hanson of Rancho Cordova, CA, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, William Krisher and Joyce Raynor, her brothers Danny Krisher and James Krisher and her stepsons Jason Shaeffer and Chris Vance.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Los Alamos Valley Mens Club, 429 Leslie Street, Los Alamos, CA 93440

Brenda was one of the nicest, happiest people I have ever met. If you saw the sparkle in her eyes and the smile on her face, you would k ie what a beautiful person she was. Her legacy lives on in her children, stepchildren and grandchildren. I will miss her. ❤
