Jadine Maria Buzzini Roinestad

1937 - 2022

Jadine Maria Buzzini Roinestad, 84, passed away Monday October 3, 2022.

Jadine was born on November 11, 1937 to Fred and Leona Buzzini at the Santa Barbara County Hospital in Santa Maria. The Buzzini family was a pioneer family of the Santa Maria Valley and is where Jadine was raised and lived her whole life. She attended local schools and went on to graduate from Santa Maria High School in 1955.

Jadine married Gordon Roinestad on August 8, 1955 in Kingman, Arizona. They have three children, Stacy, Fred and Eric, who they raised in Santa Maria as well.

Jadine worked for John Ingles Frozen Food as a quality control inspector while raising their children. She retired in 1980, but not for long. She was hardworking and decided to go back to work to stay active and social and went to work at Alpha Beta, later Lucky's then Albertsons. She enjoyed her time working there, the friendships with her co-workers and the visits to the bakery by friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She enjoyed camping, going to the Elks Lodge, dinner and dancing, country music concerts, keeping busy with board or card games, sudoku, watching game shows, various craft hobbies and craft fairs. She always looked forward to her weekly hair appointments, class reunions and her birthday dinner group. She loved dogs and cats, especially her cat Buddy. She loved visits from her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who liked to bring in her mail and water her plants. She thought is was amazing to have five generations of her family.

Jadine is survived by her sister Francine Buzzini Waggoner, sister-in-law Jean Roinestad Hadsell; her children, Stacy (Terry) Newby, Fred (Cindy) Roinestad, Eric Roinestad (Ranney Draper); her grandchildren, Michelle (Fred) Arjona, Brett (Megan) Newby, Bryan (Breanna) Roinestad, Amy (John) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Cody (Vivian) and Tiahna Arjona, Riley and Kaleb Roinestad, Jordyn, Abigail and Tucker Thomas, Berklee and Clover Newby; great-great-grandchildren Mateo Guizar and Eliana Arjona; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jadine is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Leona Buzzini, her brother Allen Buzzini and her husband of almost 62 years Gordon Roinestad.

Jadine was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and co-worker. She will be greatly missed, but we find comfort in knowing she will be reunited with Gordon.

Services will be held Tuesday October 11, 2022 at 11:00 am at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary with graveside service to follow.
