Jane Dibble Obituary
1955 - 2023
Jane Dibble (Lukeman) left this world on November 17, 2023 at the age of 68. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many over the course of her life, most of which was dedicated to helping others with medical needs.
Jane was born to John and Wanda Dibble on September 29, 1955 in Annapolis, Maryland. She and her family moved to Santa Maria, California in 1964, and Jane quickly became part of the local fabric of our community. A graduate of Righetti High School (1972) and Allan Hancock (1974), Jane went on to earn her degree in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State. After gaining valuable experience at Rancho Los Amigos in Downey, California and Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, Jane returned to the Central Coast and spent the next 20+ years at Marian Medical Center, dedicating her career to helping hundreds of patients in our local community rehabilitate from serious hand injuries.
Those who knew Jane will remember not only her passion for her profession, but also how important her husband Bill Lukeman was to her life. They shared a mutual passion for nature and wildlife, from beachcombing for sea glass on our local beaches; to exploring our national parks, including a recent and treasured trip to Yellowstone. One of her last dreams was to go to Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, California to add to their sea glass collection. Both she and Bill shared a love of animals, the most recent being their cherished Shih Tzu Buster.
Jane is survived by her husband Bill Lukeman; her sister Anne (Mark) Ozzimo; niece Cristina Ozzimo; nephew Keith Ozzimo; sisters-in-law Luann (Tony) Lukeman Reich, Joan (Lewis) Houser, and Debbie (Craig) Crenshaw; and family members Sharon Rose and Dennis Ozzimo. The family will honor Jane with a celebration of life in early 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations in Jane's name to the Mission Hope Cancer Center at Marian Medical Center.

Jane and I were best friends in the early 70´s. In our late teens, we had a lot of wonderful adventures full of laughter in the short time we were friends, before she drove with me across the country to my new home in Memphis. I have such fond memories of Jane. I can still hear her laugh. My condolences to you Bill.

Cambria was one of Jane's all-time favorite places that she and Bill loved to share with friends. Beachcombing for sea glass or standing in line at the Sea Chest, while meeting new friends, was always a highlight. Mashelle and I will always be greatful for the times we shared together with her and Bill. She always made us feel like family!!!
