To the Sterling Family,
Not long before I moved from Lompoc, I ran into John. I hadn't seen him in years but he still had that big beautiful smile and kindness that I always remembered. We had a wonderful conversation and I told him how much I admired him for all his community contributions. He was a gentle giant among men who will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him. God bless you.

To the Sterling Family,
John will deeply be missed by all. I feel honored to have known him, and was always so glad to see his smile, and hear his friendly words whenever he came into my place of employment. He truly was a gentle giant. May God be with each of you in this time of need.
