Jolie Soares Obituary
March 23, 1952 - November 14, 2025
Santa Maria - Jolie Ann Soares was born in Stockton, California, and grew up in Santa Maria, where she attended St. Mary 's through eighth grade and graduated from Saint Joseph High School. Throughout her life she lived in several different places, each one adding something to her story before she eventually settled in Mesquite, Nevada.
She worked at Gemco, helped in her family's Carrs Boot Shop, and later built a steady career in property management in Mesquite, Nevada. She followed her own path through life, moving to new places and creating a life that reflected her independence and quiet strength. Through every season she worked hard and kept finding her way forward.
The outdoors were her peace. She loved swimming in the water she felt so connected to, and she loved hiking desert trails under wide open skies. Nature gave her a freedom and calm that felt like home.
Jolie is survived by her daughters Johnna Perez, Holly Galloway and her daughter Lily Galloway, and Summer Pollack with her husband Jonathan Pollack and their children Autumn Linton, Elizabeth Linton, Grace Urbano, and Anthony Linton, her great grandson, as well as her brothers John Carr and Louie Silva.
She faced cancer many times with quiet but fierce courage. After more than four years of fighting, she passed peacefully, held by love and by the faith she carried close to her heart.
Her faith in Jesus was gentle and steady, and it brings comfort now to those who love her and release her with grace.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
