Judith Horst Obituary
Judith L. Horst passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, December 13, 2009, at her home in Hemet, CA. Born November 9, 1943 in Niagara Falls, NY, Judy moved to Santa Maria in 1963.
Judy was a licensed, vocational nurse. She also served several terms as a board member and past president for the Santa Maria Bonita School District. Judy was a proud, life-long member of the Republican Party.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ripple Frazier.
She is survived by her son Joe, daughter-in-law Emily, grandsons Elliot, Spencer, and Owen of Rockford, IL, as well as her daughter, Lisa, son-in-law, Net Baldiviez, and granddaughter, Charlotte of Santa Maria.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2009 at 10am at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, in Santa Maria, CA.

I remember so very well serving with Judith on the Santa Maria-Bonita School Board. What a bright, caring, articulate board member she was. She was battling health issues as I remember, and was always so courageous and positive. She had very firm opinions and could argue them articulately. My thoughts and prayers are with you. A great lady.
