Robert Leeds Obituary

ROBERT "BOB" LEEDS
1941 - 2008

Bob Leeds passed away on March 18th, 2008. He was born July 27th, 1941. He was a mentor and friend to countless people in the area. He was loved by many and we already miss him immensely.

Bob's passion was auto mechanics and he spent 40 years teaching it at Allan Hancock College and Lompoc High School. He mentored many of his students and some became employees at his business, Black Road Auto. Bob started the business about fifteen years ago and donated car parts from the business for his teaching purposes at college. A god-fearing man, Bob helped everyone he could in many different ways on a daily basis. Bob was a great provider for his family and this overflowed naturally to his employees, students, and
acquaintances.

Bob was born to Leonard Bedwell Leeds in Northern Ca. Bob was a tree-
feller for the U.S. Forest Service in his early adulthood which was a very
dangerous job but he had other aspirations. Bob was obsessed with cars and in the early sixties he studied math, science and auto mechanics at Chico State University and graduated with a master's degree in automotive technology from L.A. State University. He immediately landed a teaching position at Lompoc High School and about four years later in 1968 he began teaching at Allan Hancock.

He is survived by his spouse Maria, seven children, Melissia, Rebecca, Lorne, Lee, Raul, Jonathan, and Misael. He is also survived by a sister, Sharon and four grandkids including, Harvey, Lillian, Lorne Jr. and Zachariah.

Bob was well known for his kindness, charity, mentoring, and his love for teaching auto mechanics.

The funeral service will be on Friday, March 28th at 10 am in the Sanctuary at Pacific Christian Center, located on Santa Maria Way. A public viewing will be held at Magner-Maloney Funeral Home on Stowell Rd. from 10 am to 8 pm. Thursday.

Arrangements are in the care of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home and Crematory. Sympathy notes and words of support may be expressed at www.magnermaloney.com.
