Rod Hawkins Obituary
1956 - 2024
Rod Arthur Hawkins, born on October 7, 1956 in Americus, GA passed away January 12, 2024 in Santa Maria, CA.
Rod started working for Martin Marietta as a Safety Engineer in 1981 and later Lockheed and finally United Launch Alliance where he retired in 2016.
Volunteering was a huge part of Rod's life. He volunteered at Orcutt Presbyterian Church as a Deacon and with the Churches food pantry. He loved working with the High School youth at OPC for many years. Rod loved to Ski and Volunteered on the China Peak Ski Patrol for over 40 years.
Rod met Jennifer in 1985 and they were married in 1986. Rod was preceded in death by his parents Roger and Bonnie Hawkins. He is survived by his wife Jennifer and his children Ryan (Fatima) and Laura Hawkins, his siblings; Reid (Barbara) Hawkins, Becky (Connie) McKenna and Russell Hawkins along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Service to be held at Orcutt Presbyterian Church Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Orcutt Presbyterian Church Deacons Fund.

With heavy hearts we are sadend by the passing of Rod and leaving behind a wonderful family. He is resting and at peace. We will miss you in the thiughtscwe have had over these year RIP THE BOYLE FAMILY.

I worked with Rod through our music ministry at church.
After his sudden passing,
I recall driving to church and feeling extreme loss on the way and, especially upon arrival.
All of us at OPC miss you greatly Rod.

Every day I struggle knowing that we no longer have him with us but am comforted with the knowledge that he has earned his heavenly place. He was a present force in all he did. He served until his last day. I have been blessed to have been a part of his earthly journey. Love and miss you to eternity.
