Rosa Limon Torres, age 101, passed away June 13, 2023. She was born February 17, 1922 in San Jose del Castillo, Jalisco, Mexico to Hilario Torres and Maximina Reynoso. She immigrated to the United States in 1971 and settled in Santa Maria with her husband Roque Limon. Rosa was a stay at home mom who loved cooking and spending time with family and friends. In her spare time you would see her sewing her dresses. Every time you would visit her she would ask if we had eaten and would say aunque sea arroz y frijoles. Rosa loved to take care of her birds which included cockatoos, lovebirds, parakeet, and doves. Rosa was a devoted catholic of St. John Neumann church where she attended mass every Saturday. Rosa is survived by her sister, Julia De Leon, of Oakland, CA, her children and their spouses, Consuelo and Vidal Lomeli of Oxnard, CA, Eduardo and Delia Limon of Santa Maria, CA, Maria de Refugio of Oxnard, CA, Guillermina Fermin of Guadalajara, MX, Ofelia and Sigifredo Delgadillo of Santa Maria, CA, Javier and Miroslava Limon of Santa Maria, CA, Rosa and Efren Montano of Santa Maria, CA. She is also survived by her 31 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roque Limon, her sister Barbarita Fernandez, her brother Ramon Torres, her daughter Carmen Limon de Gomez and her 3 sons-in-laws, Crisoforo Gomez, Arturo Fermin, and Agustin Languren. Visitation will begin Friday June 30, 2023 at 5:00pm with the rosary at the Chapel of the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary. Mass will be held at St. John Neumann on July 1st at 9:00am. Burial will follow at the Santa Maria Cemetery.
