Shirley Lorencz Obituary

Shirley Ann Lorencz

1934 - 2023

Shirley Ann Lorencz, 88, sadly left her family to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 4, 2023. She was born in Nottingham, England July 13, 1934, to Lancelot and Dora Murdoch.

After getting married to Steve Lorencz, she came from England in 1960 moving to Orcutt where she was a homemaker raising her four children. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved spending time around family and friends, enjoying each moment. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren growing up and achieving their passions such as school performances, sports, dance & ballet, graduations, and careers. She dearly adored watching her grandchildren becoming into their own. She was so proud of them as well as her own four children.

Some of her favorite past times were, baking, knitting sweaters, scarfs, Christmas Stockings, Barbie Doll clothes and reading a good British novel or British show to enjoy memories of England from afar while eating chocolates. She was a passionate gardener and would spend time working in her garden. She loved watching the various flowers bloom in the Spring and throughout the year. Her favorite flowers were red roses. But she especially loved to feed the birds daily, since they would call to her throughout the day for her to feed them or come to her door to enjoy her loving spirit and kind heart. One last note, she was an avid 49ers fan since she came to this country.

Shirley is preceded by her father Lancelot Murdoch, mother Dora Murdoch, brother Derek Murdoch, and grandson Kyle Lorencz.

Shirley is survived by her four children Lee (Debra) Lorencz, Dale (Kathy) Lorencz, Ross (Kamron) Lorencz, Gail (John) Ruffo, seven grandchildren Dessura Lorencz, Justin Lorencz, Katie Lorencz, Paityn Lorencz, Brooks Lorencz, Brody Lorencz, Raquel Ruffo, and one great grandchild, Larissa Lorencz. She will be greatly missed with a laugh that was infectious to all that heard it and may she lay in peace. Now she can get on the ballroom floor and dance away.

A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in the Chapel of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home, 600 East Stowell Road, Santa Maria, CA 93454.

Rest in peace Mrs. Lorencz. When you get to heaven please look for for my mother Betty so you can both share a spot of tea together sitting amongst the beautiful flowers in the garden.

My sincere condolences to all family and friends

May the love that comes from the memories of your dearly beloved Shirley comfort you now and in the days ahead. As you go through this difficult time, may this Bible verse bring you comfort at Isa. 41:10 "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. do not be anxious, for I'm your God. I will fortify you , yes I will help you and hold on to you with my right Hand"

I wish you peace and comfort during your time of grief
