William "Bill " Edward McCain passed away on January 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, grit, and an unwavering love for family.
Born in El Centro, California, to Dorothy and Jim McCain, Bill came from humble beginnings-instilling in him the work ethic that would define his life. He married the love of his life, Sharon, in 1954, and together they built a home in Buena Park, CA, raising three strong-willed daughters. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Bill relocated his family to the Central Coast in 1977, all while launching his own company, Santa Maria Acoustical Company (SMACO)-a testament to his ambition and determination.
Bill and Sharon shared a love for adventure, traveling the world together and exploring the Mediterranean, Polynesia, China, Mexico, and Hawaii to name a few. At home, Bill found joy in the simple pleasures: a good round of golf, trips to the lake, tending to his garden, hosting lively family gatherings, and doting on his ever-growing pack of fluffy dogs.
He was a man of his word-tough but fair, a straight shooter with a heart of gold hidden beneath his iron-fisted leadership. His presence was strong, his advice often unsolicited but always wise, and his love for his family undeniable.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Lauri McCain; his beloved grandchildren, Randi Pust, Christopher (Adriana) Seymore, William Seymore, Andrew (Maeve) Seymore, and Elizabeth (Cody) Briggs; and his sister, Joanne Wedgeworth. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Sebastian, Olivia, and Rosemary Seymore.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon, and his cherished daughters, Chrystine John and Michelle Moreno, and his sisters Betty and Jeanette.
Bill lived life on his terms, worked hard, and loved fiercely. His memory will be cherished and his stories retold with a smile.
