Anthony Bovino Obituary

Anthony (Tony) Bovin ST. JOHNSVILLE – Anthony (Tony) Bovino went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 5, 2012 with his family by his side. He was 81. Born on March 15, 1931 in Balvano, Italy, he was the son of Antonio and Diana (Tuoturella) Bovino. Tony emigrated from Italy with his family in December 1954 and settled in St. Johnsville, NY. Tony worked several jobs when he came from Italy and eventually started a career as a machinist for Palatine Dye. He moved his family to Scotia and continued working as a machinist for the General Electric Company in Schenectady. While living in Scotia, Tony was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Schenectady County Republican Committee. He later settled back in St. Johnsville where he lived with his sister Emma LaCoppola. Tony was a faithful member of Victorious Life Church in Fort Plain and was active in Morris Cerullo World Evangelism Ministries. He enjoyed traveling and would often go back to Italy and stay for months spending time with his sister Maria and his nieces and nephews. Tony was skilled in many areas which included plumbing, carpentry, electrical and especially masonry. If he could build it out of concrete that this what he would do. Of the many hobbies Tony enjoyed, gardening was the one that he loved. He was a master at it. If the weather was nice you would see Tony out in his yard keeping the weeds out of his flowers and taking care of his tomato plants. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Vincenzio Bovino and his sister, Louise Bovino – Triumpho. Survivors include a daughter, Diana (Matthew) Mirabile of Ballston Spa; two sons, Thomas (Debbie) Bovino of Glenville and Anthony (Angela) Bovino of Saratoga Springs; his sisters, Emma LaCoppola of St. Johnsville, and Maria (Tuoturella) Tomesillo of Potenza, Italy; six grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday December 9, 2012 from 2-5 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040. Funeral services will be held on Monday December 10, 2012 at 11:00 am from the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery.
