Clarence Cornell Obituary

Clarence “Billy” Cornell Ballston Spa - Clarence “Billy” Cornell, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born in Ballston Spa on December 30, 1952, he was the son of Sonny and Pat Cornell. Billy was the owner and operator of Cornell Excavating and Paving for 30 years. He was often accompanied by his four legged companion Ricco when he went to a job site. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, poker and fishing. Billy loved rhubarb and was known to borrow it from his neighbor’s yard. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Sonny Cornell; and his sisters, Gail Barnes and Sheila Harblin. Billy is survived by his wife Susan; his children, Kevin Cornell and his wife Jennifer of Malta, and Jennifer Petar and her husband Scott of Malta; grandchildren, Tucker, Sadie, Brady and Sydney; mother, Pat Cornell of Ballston Spa; sister, Robin Delaney and her husband Larry of Ballston Spa; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10am Monday, March 3 at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial will be in Factory Village Cemetery in the Spring. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 2 from 2-6pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Billy to Community Emergency Corp, Thompson Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020. Online remembrances may be made at www.armerfuneralhome.com
