I am so sorry to read about Dr. Byrne's passing. He was my orthodontist (twice! a fault of my own) and he helped correct my overbite and open bite over a period of 10 years off and on with braces along with his son. Very sad to see this..I wasn't aware he was ill. My heartfelt prayers go out to all of the Byrne family and staff at the practice. Rest in Heavenly peace.

I am so sad to learn of Dr. Byrne's passing. He made a huge difference in my life, when I decided to get braces at 20. He graciously removed the front 6 when I got married at 22, and put them back on after the honeymoon! He took good care of all the Witkop siblings, and all my Roohan kids, and now my grandson is wearing a palate expander from a new Dr. Byrne. I so enjoyed knowing Jim for so many years. He was always kind and engaged, always fun to talk to. He certainly leaves a huge legacy from a lifetime of being such a good man. My best to his family.

I was one of Doctor Byrne's first patients in 1974ish, and 31 and 32 years later my daughter and youngest son were patients of his. He was just as kind to both of them as was to me. I wore the dreaded head gear and my kids had to deal with the spacers, but Doctor Byrne got us through all of it. Thank you for all you did for my family and so many others. Rest in peace

Dr Byrne was very kind as well as an excellent orthodontist. I still have that beautiful smile from the work he did for me in the early seventies. I always enjoyed our conversations as I sat in the chair during my appointments. He was somebody special from my childhood that I'll never forget. I'm so glad I stopped by his new office a couple of years ago to say hello . It's unusual for a doctor to remember a patient from almost 50 years ago, but he did.

I have so many memories of the Byrne family from my childhood which all include so much laughter. Jim loved an adventure and I was lucky enough to join he and my dad on many of them. The memory that comes to my mind right now is the giant bowls of his famous linguini with clam sauce. I wish I could have some now! All my love goes out to the Byrne family.

I have so many fond memories of time spent with Jim and Sharon - cross country skiing, hiking, dining and just having good fun. Hiking with our kids into Johns Brook Lodge pushing a wheelbarrow was a truly memorable event. We abandoned the wheelbarrow part way in, but laughed about it for years. Jim was a great story teller, especially when he was paired with Sharon on something which they viewed with different perspectives. I never laughed so hard as I did when I was with them. That wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew Jim, and I am so sad to think he is no longer with us. My heart goes out to Sharon and all of their children and grandchildren. I will always think of you all with great affection!

Jim Byrne was just a great man. Always a gentleman. Always kind...Always respectful and considerate of others. My wife, Corinne and I have crossed paths with Jim and Sharon downtown only from time to time over recent years. But I still remember my Saratoga tennis teaching days in the late 1970´s when I taught most of the Byrne children and gave Jim a few lessons as well. What I vividly remember most was Jim´s presence on the side of the court with Sharon; the the adoring father and Sharon the devoted mom. I thought at the time this is the kind of family I hope to one day have...There was such a special, warm vibe which they all shared. In fact, I can´t think of ever having even a hint of an unpleasant moment in Jim´s presence. He was just the epitome of decency. There was always a sweetness about him. Corinne and I know what it feels like to lose a close family member. With that knowledge, we wish all of the Byrne family comfort and tremendous pride in having shared your journey so far with this man.

Jim was an outstanding person and his life was well represented in his obituary. I met the Byrne family
first through Cornell connections, then through Rich John's tennis programs and then professionally with
Byrne Orthodontics. In the last 10 years Jim and I had plenty of chats at the Church Street Stewarts.
Beyond his incredible life accomplishments he was a genuinely nice person. His commitment to his profession and family was undeniable. He had so much to brag about but he was not a bragger.
The strength of the Byrne family spirit and closeness is a wonderful legacy for Jim. Byrne Orthodontics was and is an amazing practice.
Both of my children grew up with disorganized teeth. To no-one's surprise I am pleased to report that Jim
and Brian provided expert and efficient treatments. Katie and Tim came away with healthy teeth and radiant smiles!
