Schuylerville, NYJohn Clifton Gordon 64, of Schuylerville, NY entered into eternal rest on Friday July 8, 2022, at home after a long battle with multiple myeloma. John was born on May 17, 1958, in Duquesne, PA to Otto Gordon Sr. and Savannah (Shirley) Gordon. He was the 4th born son to Shirley out of 6 sons. John married the love of his life, Rachael (Surprenant) Gordon on June 26, 2004.John spent his childhood years being educated in Queens, NY, spending his school vacations in Saratoga Springs. He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1977. After graduating, John was employed for many years at Skidmore College in the food service department, before attending vocational school and joining Rifenburg Construction, as a bridge carpenter. After retiring from Rifenburg Construction, John retuned to BOCES Vocational School on Henning Rd. as an assistant teacher in the Heavy Equipment class, where he worked until he became ill. John also worked for NYRA as an armed Pinkerton for several years before transferring to the luxury suites as a waiter for 25 years.John is survived by his loving wife, Rachael of 18 years, his children; Kenneth C. Gordon, daughter, Savannah K. Gordon, Noah Wicks, grandchildren, Gianna Parker, Kaiden Gordon, Maximus Wicks, and John McDonald-Gordon, brothers Otto and Vaughn Gordon (RI), Byron Hightower (NC), Orlando Gordon (NY), and a host of cousins, nieces, friends and his comfort dog, Luna.John is predeceased by his parents, Otto and Shirley Gordon and his older brother, Kenneth “Boobie” Charles Gordon, of whom John named his son after.John was an avid outdoorsman, who loved camping, fishing, hunting and grilling. He loved fast cars and motorcycles and he shared his love of these with his children, taking long rides and hikes to set up hunting spots.The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the New York Oncology Hematology office in Clifton Park, Dr. Courtney Bellomo at Albany Medical Center Oncology Department, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, as well as all the friends and family who have offered their prayers and support over the many years.A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday July 14, from 1pm-2:30pm, with a service to follow from 2:30pm-4pm at the Tunison Funeral Home 105 Lake Ave. Saratoga Springs, Ny 12866, a repast will follow the ceremony at the Italian American War Veterans 247 Grand Ave. Saratoga springs, NY 12866 at 4:30pm.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the New York State Wildlife & Habitat Conservation in John’s memory.Online condolences may be made at
