I certainly have a remembrance of Joe, not just today on the anniversary of his passing, but, my remembrance is one that is forever, for my memories are etched and will be with me until my dying day. For Joe and I did not share an ongoing communication, as life’s journey takes us in different directions. But seeing he had passed when I tried to reach out was an awakening for me, maybe it should be for others, reach out to those you have such fond memories of throughout your life, just say hello, it will do both hearts a world of good.
God Bless Joe on this day

I was very saddened just now after trying to locate Joe, only to find out of his passing. My deepest profound sympathies to his wife their children and all those that knew and loved him understanding their loss. He was one of the very best gentleman I knew growing up, had many great memories. And Joe left each of us a treasure, those individual personal memories.
God Bless

Dear Linda, I was really saddened to hear about Joe’s passing. Both of you were so supportive to me and my children after my divorce in the ‘80s. I had just started my stint in GE International with Tom McKone and wasn’t sure how my life would work out. You guys made me feel that the world would go on.and that things would get better. They did ! We never got to buy the place on the Lake near you guys, but I suppose that was not to be. The important thing is to be good parents to your kids , something I subconsciously learned by watching from afar. As are yours, my children, Kim and Alec, are self confident and successful adults now. Their children are brilliant and self-confident. They have grown from the little 6 and 10 year old children of divorce to the people we are proud of. It is not easy, this life, but thanks for the good example an inspiration.

Meuse Family, so many great memories growing up across the street from the Meuse's on Trottingham. From trying to roll my tongue when ready to wrestle like Mr. Meuse and all the boys, to him buying my first pair of skis (wooden) and teaching me how to ski at Alpine Mtn, many sleepovers with Brendan, and the many many days and nights at the camp on Sacandaga and trips to get ice cream or to the I-Go-Inn. Mr. Meuse was always laughing and smiling, and coming up with things for us boys to do to stay out of trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Meuse always made me feel like part of the family. Mr. Meuse always had great stories to tell and remembered and told them for many years. He will be sorely missed but always remembered for the life he led and how he lived it. So many images from my childhood with him in them. Thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Meuse, Joe, Eric, Mark, Brendan, and the entire Meuse family from the Colorado Longley's.

The Meuse and Longley families go back a long time - more than 50 years - when as young parents we moved across the street from one another in Geyser Crest. Our combined 6 children grew up together and roamed and ruled our section of Trottingham Road. When Geyser Road school opened our two families had a child in each grade: from Chris in 1st to Joey in 6th. The kids had a fun childhood from swimming in the Meuse pool to playing wiffle ball and Ghosts in the graveyard in our backyard.
Some random great memories from that time:
- Christmas Eve retrieving and assembling "Santa's" toys
- Barefoot runs around the house for card game losers (mostly Dave and Linda as Joe & I usually won :))
- Babysitting exchanges
- Vacationing together at the Connecticut Shore or Sacandaga
- Joe taking all the kids at Halloween for trick & treating (the kids for candy, Joe for beers)
We will miss Joe's wonderful sense of humor, his stocism in the face of chronic and ongoing health issues and especially his generosity and support for his family, friends and those in need of help.

Linda, I am sorry to hear about Joe's passing. Some of my best childhood memories were at your camp - tubing on Joe's motorboat, swimming on your beach and sitting by your camp fire.

I worked with Joe during the Chesterfield 7 and 8 projects. Joe was a remarkable man. He was kind, generous, decent, honest, responsible, strong and steadfast, patient, uncomplaining, everything a man would want to be.

Dearest Meuse family,
There are no words to describe such a wonderful man as Joe. Having known him as a teenager in MEGANSETT he was the rockstar. To this day I can envision that infectious smile and those beautiful big white teeth. Having read his beautifully written obituary I knew that he would make the most of his life and it proved he did. Linda and boys I am so sorry for your loss.
To this day I consider Dustin my best friend and will be for life. I get to see Sue on occasions and I remember how much Joe adored her when she was a little girl.
Everyone who had the pleasure to know Joe Meuse has lost a hero..he will be forever missed.
With sympathy,
NENE

Dear Mr. Meuse, It seems like only yesterday you were on the little league field teaching us how to run, catch, and hit a baseball. Those early lessons were more than just the mechanics of baseball. They left an indelible impression on how to be a good person and friend. As you move on to your next journey, rest assured your legacy that has touched so many lives will live on in the Knapp family's hearts. With love and sadness, BJ Knapp

I was privileged for 30 years + to have Joe as my Manager, Mentor and Friend! He taught me how to be a successful manager in GE. He would tell me never say “I” always we the team, the power of his “Franklin Planner” and most of all how to work hard but still have fun doing it. We traveled together on countless trips from Virginia Power 7F project in the early nineties when he traveled with his brief case on wheels he called “Rover”. Then to meetings in Saudi Arabia where at the customer meeting he wore the Saudi “Dress” and would walk down the hall holding the hand of the customer plant manager which was normal for the culture then in Saudi Arabia, but for me quite a sight.
I remember when he was in Taiwan he asked me to send him a whiffle ball set because he started teaching and playing whiffle ball with the local kids!
Then who could ever forget Joe’s starring role in the Halloween Zombie land haunted house in Schenectady Hamilton Hill. He volunteered to be the Zombie Santa which no other person have played the role better. My role was to guide the kids out and I would ask them what they liked most and “Hand’s Down” every time they would yell the “Zombie Santa”. With a little pause but then I thought Joe would say go ahead post my Zombie Santa picture :-)
Every dinner we had together was filled with conversation, smiles and of course a “Rusty Nail” drink for Joe. What more can I say he was just a damn “Good Guy”
God Bless you Joe Meuse. My last tribute to you other than countless memories is to have ten tree’s planted in your name.
