Margaret Sodemann

Margaret A. Sodemann WILTON - Margaret A. Sodemann passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 98 years old. Born on March 14, 1919 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Julia (Cherry) Tougas. Margaret graduated from St. Peter’s Academy in 1937. She was employed at both M.N. Landau’s Department Store and Clarks Department Store in downtown Saratoga Springs for many years. In her earlier years, she enjoyed painting with watercolors and writing poetry. She also enjoyed traveling to the Adirondacks. Margaret loved all animals and supported the Humane Society of America and many other charities. She loved feeding the birds and watching them in her back yard. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Edward Sodemann who passed away in June, 1993. Survivors include her son, John E. Sodemann and his wife Carol of Saratoga Springs; granddaughter, Amilynn (James Rice) of Ballston Spa; grandson, Michael Sellers of Stephentown and one great-granddaughter, Jazlynn Rice. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Thursday, June 15th, at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway 584-5373. Services will be conducted at 9am Friday, June 16th at the funeral home and burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
