Noreen Young

1939 - 2017

Noreen K. Young HADLEY - Noreen K. Young, 77, of South Shore Road, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 22, 1939 in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Eileen (Flynn) Kenyon. Noreen graduated from Corinth High School in 1956 and from Mildred Elley Business School in Albany. She married Gary H. Young on April 17, 1960 in Corinth and the couple resided in Hadley for many years. He passed away May 7, 2014 following 54 years of marriage. Noreen was employed as a medical transcriptionist at Adirondack Regional Hospital in Corinth for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Corinth Alumni Association. Noreen enjoyed reading, traveling, but first and foremost, she lived for her family and was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include two children, Michael K. Young (Lisa) of Corinth and Michelle K. Young-Hutchinson (Gary) of Darien, Conn.; one grandson, Ryan P. Young of Corinth; one brother, Edward Kenyon of Glens Falls; one brother-in-law, John R. Young of Scotia; two nieces, Martha Sweenor (Alan) of Whitehall and Vikki Hecht (Brian) of Virginia; one nephew, Norman Young (Patty) of Scotia; and several cousins. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth. A memorial service will be then held at 7 p.m., Monday at the funeral home with Lane Schermerhorn, officiating. The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 959 State Rt. 9, Queensbury, NY 12804 or Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Saratoga Hospital C-3 for their kindness and care shown to Noreen during her illness.
