Walter Cichacki

Schuylerville - Walter Cichacki, 75, a resident of Glens Falls and former Schuylerville resident, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his home.He was born October 21, 1948, in Schuylerville, NY, to the late John and Clara (Gorsky) Cichacki.Walter was a private person and very low key, keeping to himself. He was very well educated, achieving a Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and Master's from Middlebury College. He was a mover and shaker, teaching French in many different schools. The highlight of his career was creating a Liberty Bell for the 60th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion and presenting it in Normandy in 2015.Walter grew up on the family farm in Quaker Springs and was always a hard worker his entire life.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Charlotte Cichacki.He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Lavazzo of Quaker Springs; brothers, John Cichacki of Greenwich, and Joe Cichacki of Quaker Springs; niece Marissa Lavazzo of Clifton Park.A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Flynn Bros, Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.
