William "Bill" Ray Joubert Sr.SARATOGA SPRINGS - William "Bill" Ray Joubert Sr., 80, peacefully returned to the Lord on Monday Jan. 8, 2018 at Albany Medical Center, after a brief illness.Born on July 30, 1937 in Saratoga Springs, the son of the late William Joubert and Margaret Plumadore Ross, he attended Saratoga Springs High School. Bill played in the band "The King's Four" with various members at local establishments during the 60's and 70's. He loved playing the drums and fondly remembered those years. He also worked in several businesses during his career as an executive chef/cook or in management at the Americana Inn, Service Systems/D.A.K.A. at the Empire State Plaza, the Steuben Athletic Club, Killington Ski Resort in VT and the Glens Falls Elks Lodge #81, just to name a few. While at the Empire State Plaza, he was the executive chef at Governor Hugh Carey's Albany wedding reception in April of 1981. He was a former president of the Saratoga Columbian Association and was a lifetime member of the Principessa Elena Society. A member of St. Clement's Church, he was actively involved in numerous parish retreats and various church activities."Pa", as his grandchildren so fondly remember him, was never more happy and proud than when all his children and grandchildren could get together as a family, no matter the occasion. He cherished those times and always had a big smile whenever he spoke of his grandchildren. His stories, smiles, and cooking will be missed by many of his friends, old and new, that he made over his lifetime. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Patricia Joubert; his siblings Donald Ross, Richard Ross and Margaret Magrum. To the Family of Bill:

Bill was such a great human being and would help anyone he could. I wanted to be at his wake and mass but was sick. The Retreat Program at St. Clement's was so lucky to have him as part. He was such a help to Sr. Carolyn. Now they can be angels together. May God bless each of you as you deal with the loss of such a great man. I shall miss him!!

Sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I have fond memories of when he and Pat lived next door. I had to work this weekend and could not make the services. (To be on the safe side I didn't want to put this comment in sooner.) My best to everyone. Love Linda of Marvin Street

To Bill's Family, We extend our deepest sympathy to each of you in the loss of a "Larger than Life Man." I had the wonderful privilege and opportunity to work with Bill on a several events. Originally we met Bill at St. Clement's Retreat Program where Bill enthusiastically shared his life experience and also the fruits of his talents when he cooked for us. Bill was always willing to help out, always with a great upbeat attitude and words of encouragement for others no matter what he was experiencing at the time. He had a great smile, a giving spirit and a loving heart. We feel honored to have known Bill. Eternal rest grant unto you Bill, and may perpetual light shine upon you. May you rest in peace. Sincerely,

I have had the privilege of knowing Chef Bill for many years and we will miss him. Bill lost his wife Pat several months ago and you could sense the effect of her loss on Bill. Bill was a huge ice hockey fan dating back to his sons Bill and Adam who both played the game.I have on many occasions taken Bill to watch my grandson play and he was very happy watching . Bill was also very proud of his family and missed dearly his family that lived away from Saratoga.
His work with the Knights of Columbus as Chef and President of the Columbian Association was untiring .Many people have been positively affected through Bills efforts to ensure they were better after interacting with Bill.
Until we meet again Adios my friend.

To all of Bill's children, family and friends I am very sorry to hear the news of his passing. Our families had a lot of fun over the many years that have gone by from snowmobiling to picnics and following the band wherever they were playing. You children had a great pair of loving parents. Cherish your memories of them I know I will and so will everyone who knew them. They are together again and Bill's go a new band in heaven. RIP until we meet again on the other side.
