Anthony Velazquez Obituary
Died: December 24, 2020; Sterling
LYNDON – Anthony Steven Velazquez, 64, of Lyndon, Illinois, passed on the morning of December 24, 2020 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. Tone was also born at CGH. His sons were at his bedside and daughter via video to say goodbye.
Tone was the son of Jose and Eudora (Harms) Velazquez. He attended Prophetstown High School, and Sauk Valley Community College, Dixon, IL. He worked for Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, and married Nancy L. (Almanza) Edwards from 1975 to 1989.
Survivors include his father, Jose Velazquez of Lyndon, IL; two sons, Anthony (Arelis) Velazquez II and Travis (Evangeline) Velazquez, both of Sycamore, IL, one daughter, Nina (Rodrigo) Cerna of St. Charles, IL; six grandchildren, Anthony Velazquez III, Alejandra, Travis II, Bradley Velazquez, and Laia and Vivienne Cerna; brothers, Joe, Mike, Rick, Tim, Chuck, David, Fred, Dale, Jimmy; and two sisters, Theresa and Andrea. Tone also had numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother Eudora,, and brother, Paul.
Tone was a country boy through and through and enjoyed farming and raising livestock when he was young. He enjoyed fast cars and classic rock; always the life of the party, charismatic, and having the ability to make anyone laugh, Tone was making jokes until the very end. Tone was always spontaneous and had a carefree spirit that lasted throughout his many years, he will be missed dearly.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A private funeral will follow, and will be livestreamed to the McDonald Funeral Home Facebook page at 2 p.m. Masks and social distancing will be enforced.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Tone - remembering the times you came, with Chuck, Dale, Andea, Tim, etc, to play in our pool with Tammy when we lived in Round Grove. Also coaxing my 3 yr old to step of the open air duct to fall onto a table full of clothes that scared me pieces and you just laughed. Gonna miss you man. Love you much and all the rest of the V13 as I labeled you.

Tone was a super fun man. He introduced me to Klipsch speakers and Pink Floyd. I especially remember listening to the song Time.He was definitely a free spirit who would give you the shirt off his back. May his easy going ways carry on in your lives. RIP Tone. My condolences to the Velazquez family.

Hey Tone, you were such a cutie. I was the oldest Harms and was not there when you all had your rotten egg fights at the farm.But I hear you had a wicked toss! You and Tiny got had some fun times.
