Arturo F. Nieto, 44. of Sterling. died Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 12, 1977 in Pabellion de Arteaga, Aguascalientes, Mexico. He married the former Claudia Solis in March 2001 in Morrison, IL. Arturo had worked at various jobs but most recently at Qvest Sanitation in Mount Morris. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and metal detecting in his free time. Arturo was a great cook and family man. He loved being with his family. He enjoyed listening to his Latin music and was a Chicago Bears and Sterling Warriors Football fan.
Survivors include his wife Claudia; his children: Treyvon Solis, Tayveon Solis and Irma Solis-Nieto; his brothers: Martin Ruiz-Prieto, David Ruiz-Prieto, Gerardo Ramos-Ruiz, Jorge Nieto; his maternal grandfather David Ruiz Robles; his close cousin Jose Ruiz; and his fur companion "Smokey"; Nephews: Christian Nieto, Memo Nieto, Nathan Cavazos, and many other beloved nephews; Nieces: Tori Pitkin, Charisma Martinez, and many other beloved nieces; sisters-in-law: Sandi Cavazos, Betty Solis; brothers-in-law: John Cavazos, Antonio Martinez; and Father-in-law: Rosendo Solis.
He was preceded in death by his mother Socorro Ruiz Prieto, his grandmother Emilia Prieto Crus, and his brother Guillermo Nieto.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 26, 2021 from 3-5 PM at Amazing Grace Church in Sterling. The funeral will follow on Monday at 10 AM in the Church with Pastor Loren Schlomer officiating. Burial will conclude at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Homes.
