Beverly Rose Bennett, 90, of Rock Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16th, leaving behind a legacy of quiet service, unwavering love, and deep devotion to both her family and her community.
Born August 23, 1934, in Sterling, IL, to Frank and Helen (Hutchison) Jacobs, Bev grew up alongside her three sisters-Evelyn, Doris, and Lenora.
A devoted mother, Bev raised her three children, Bonnie Keele, Susan (Bob) Furniss, and Charles (Kim) Bennett, primarily on her own, working full-time and running her own cleaning business. She poured her energy into caring for others and took pride in keeping both her clients' homes and her community beautiful.
For many years, Bev called the Plaza home, where she cared for the building inside and out, making sure it was a welcoming place for all. Her compassion extended beyond people-she often rescued animals from the streets, giving them warmth, safety, and love. She cared for friends in their homes always lending a steady, dependable hand.
She was blessed with eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, son-in-law Warren "Bud" Keele; special granddaughter Keesha Furniss; great-grandson Aaron Christensen; and great-granddaughter Alyssa Olalde.
Perhaps the most beautiful thing about Bev was how unaware she was of the extraordinary impact she made. She gave of herself freely, without expectation, and touched more lives than she ever knew. She will be missed deeply-not only by her family, but by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
By Bev's request, there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. She asked, in lieu of flowers, that any donations be made to Keesha Warrior Princess at warriorprincess.org
