Bob G. Fossett, 73, of Dixon has gone to be with his Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Liberty Court with his family by his side. He was born February 12, 1951 in Dixon the son of Lola Warnken and Ivan Fossett. He graduated from Polo High School in 1969. He earned his Associates degree at Sauk Valley Community College.
Bob married Debra Bonnell on August 12, 1971.
He was employed at Borg-Warner and Dixon Marquette Cement in Dixon. For the last 22 years he was employed at Constellation/Exelon in Byron, retiring in 2017.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going for rides to Union Dairy in Freeport and seeing the bison at Nachusa Grasslands.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his mother Lola Buntjer, his father Ivan Fossett, one aunt Betty Warnken, 2 uncles Earnest Warnken Jr, and Eddie Warnken, and one cousin Ted Warnken.
Bob is survived by his wife, Debra, of Dixon, daughter Nicole (Al) Friese, of Orangeville, a son Nathan (fiancé Briana Sandholm) Fossett, of Sterling; three grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Quinn and Laelin Fossett, also 2 bonus grandchildren, Leila Anderson and Elizabeth Sandholm. He is also survived by his step father, LaVerne Buntjer, one sister, Carla (Dave) Wagner, of Polo, two brothers, Tom Fossett, of Rock Falls, and Ken (Kathy) Fossett, of Sterling, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 17, 2025, with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Dixon, 202 S Peoria Ave. with funeral service to follow. Burial of cremains will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Association and Unity Hospice.
