David L. Hardin was born September 12, 1957 in Huntsville, AL to David C. and Julia C (Hereford) Hardin. He graduated in 1975 from Hazel Green High School. David moved to Illinois the summer of 1976 and met the love of his life, Kimberly A. Bennett Hardin. They went on to have six beautiful children. David was one of the most hard-working, talented, kind hearted, and strong people you'll ever meet. He gained his hard earned wings on Monday, August 14, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly A. Hardin (Bennett) of Sterling; his mom, Julia C. Hardin (Hereford); five children, Melissa (Joshua) Williams, Joshua (Danisha) Hardin, Tiffany Hardin, Nathaniel Hardin, and Lindsey Hardin; two sisters, Veronica Hardin and Valerie Parker; eighteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; special cousins, Curt Smith and Phyllis Dillard; special friends, Derant Degraffenreid and Gordon and Martha Harris, Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, David C. Hardin; one daughter, Ashley N. Hardin; one brother, John Stewart; maternal grandparents, Bob and Annie Odell Hereford; and paternal grandparents, Bob and Odie Lee Hardin.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to Davita Kidney Care in Sterling.
