Delores M. Mason, age 95, of Amboy passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 6, 1930 in Amboy, IL, the daughter of Birthier and Violet (Skinner) Phillips. Delores was a graduate of the class of 1947 at Amboy High School. She worked for Public Service Co. as a secretary, the telephone company, Gish Jewelry and Gifts, The Amboy Flower Shop, and then spent ten years for the Amboy Central School Library. Delores was a member of the Lee Center Congregational Church, chapter F. D. of P.E.O., the Marion unit of H.E.A., Pilgrim Daughters, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She married George Mason on June 20, 1954 in Amboy. He preceded her in death on Dececember 12, 2023. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and brother Donald (Lois) Phillips. Delores is survived by her children, James (Nancy) Mason of East Helena, MT, Janice Mason of Lyndon, IL, Judith (Scott) Denys of Geneseo, IL Joyce (John) Cook of Morrison, IL, ten grandchildren Todd, Terry, Lori, Kira, Tim, August, Katie, Mathew, Adam, Andrew, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great granddaughters and sister, De Lyle (Stanley) Pfoutz. Funeral services will be on Saturday Sep. 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Burial will follow at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be on Saturday Sep. 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.
