Delores Marie (Wiemken) Massey, age 82, of Oregon, IL,passed away on August 25th at Mercy Health in Rockford after a very brief illness.
Born September 13, 1938 in Hopkins Township to Clara (Schwitters) and Carl Wiemken, Delores grew up on a farm and graduated fromPolo High School. She raised four children while working at the Ogle County ASCS Office. She married Robert Massey on Leap Day, Feb. 29, 1992 and he survives.
Delores was predeceased by her parents, Carl & Clara Wiemken and stepfather Nevin Brown, brother Marvin Wiemken and his wife Sandy (Miller) Wiemken; by her granddaughter Adrienne Prince; and grandson, Justus Bartelt.
She is survived by her children, Wynell Eakle (Bradley), Susan Ogan (Todd), Kendall Kyker (Jeannie Jo Bartelt Kyker), and John Kyker; stepchildren, Dan Massey (Brenda) and Kristie Warfel (Bill); grandchildren Colin Prince, Conor Prince, Megan Osterdock, Caitlin Ogan, Shayann Strader,Simber Zuend, Kellen Kyker, Chad Kyker, LeAnne Ward, Destani Kyker, and Ember Kyker, plus Jordan Massey and Stephanie Reitzel, Ashley Huddlestun, Sarah Warfel, Trevor Warfel, and Rachel Warfel; as well as brother, Paul (Beverly) Wiemken; and many wonderful great-grandchildren.
Delores loved gardening and crocheting, often making items to donate and gift to others. She was along-time member and past officer of the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Visitation will be held at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo, IL 61064 on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held for family only.
