Florence R. Shaw, 76, of Sterling died Friday December 21, 2021 at CGH Medical Center. Florene was born September 13, 1945 in Mt. Carroll the daughter of Raymond and Imogen (Handel) Oviatt. She married Jerry D. Shaw on November 3, 1961 in Mt. Carroll. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2021.
Survivors include one son Mitch (Teresa) Shaw of Henderson NV; one daughter Margo (Tim) Bartels of Chadwick; three brothers Rick (Michelle) Oviatt, Greg (Bunny) Oviatt of Mt. Carroll, Jim (Bev) Oviatt of Grand Rapids MN; one sister Debbie (Paul) Hardey of Morrison; six grandchildren Tammy Hamblen, Tim Bartels, Amber Shaw, Tyler Shaw, Marlo Boultinghouse, and Shelbi Shaw; ten great-grandchildren Christian, Macie, Cainon, Josie, Taryn, Madison, Logan, Owen, Jonah, Elinor.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, one son Michael Shaw; one sister Vicky Rodriguez; one brother Larry Oviatt; nephew Johnny Ray Garza; and step-mother Norma Oviatt.
Cremation rites have been accorded and arrangements entrusted to Schilling Funeral Home 7 Cremation.

I've known Florene since I was 14yrs old. The woman was a saint! She always took the high road, no matter how difficult it was. She always had smile n kind word, always putting others needs before her own. She will be missed!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Many years ago I was the babysitter for Florene and her brothers. I knew her as a precious little girl who loved to have me read her bedtime stories. She and her brothers held a special place in my heart. Blessings
