Mr. Francis L Hanson, age 102, died Sunday, February 16, 2025 in his home in Napa California.
Mr. Hanson was born on July 13,1922 in Sterling Illinois, the son of Franklin B and Helen
Hanson. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Pearson on June 9,1946.
Francis managed the Wayne Feed Supply business in Sterling for many years. He was a formerboard member of the 4 th Street Methodist Church, a member of the Sterling Jaycees, and BoyScout Troop 305 leader. He served in the infantry in WWII in both Europe and Japan. In Napa,he managed several agriculture related business ventures until he retired. He was an active member of the Napa Methodist Church and the Napa Barbershop Chorus.
He is survived by his son David (Eve) Hanson of San Jose CA, his daughter Barbara (Don)
Girton of Fort Atkinson WI, and his grandson Spencer Hanson of Tucson AR. He was preceded
in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, and his brother Kenneth Hanson.
Funeral services will be 11AMFriday March 7, 2025 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling, IL. Visitation will be 6PM-8PM Thursday March 6, 2025 also at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
