Francis Verbout Obituary

Francis C. Verbout, 81 of Rock Falls died Tuesday September 12, 2023, at Rock River Hospice & Home.
He was born on August 27, 1942, in Sterling the son of Frank F. and Lola I. (Stange) Verbout. He was a 1961 graduate of Sterling High School. Francis married the former Marilyn K. Hicks on July 13, 1963 in Tampico. He had been employed for 40 years as a machinist at the former R.B.&W., Reliant and Rock River Tool and Die, retiring in 2006.
Francis was active in the Rock Falls baseball program, serving as a little league coach and baseball and softball umpire for many years. He also served as a Rock Falls School Board member.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; their two sons: Jeff (Lynette) Verbout and Brian (Kim) Verbout; one brother Therlo Verbout; three grandchildren: Zachary Verbout, Tyler (Tavia) Verbout and Mackenzie Verbout; three great grandchildren: Gabe, Gianna, and Ivy.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family ceremony will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rock River Hospice in Sterling
Arrangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.
