MILLEDGEVILLE – Gary "Gibby" D. Harris, age 79, died peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2025 at VA Hospital in Madison, WI.
Gary was born September 19, 1945 in Moline the son of William and Bellvadean (Ballard) Harris. He married Jean Paschal on June 21, 1968 in Morrison. She died in December of 2014. Gary worked construction and as a Security Guard at the Savanna Army Depot for several years. He was an avid golfer, loved to fish and ice fish. Gary also enjoyed playing Santa for a number of years for family and local businesses. He served his country in the United States Army. Gary most enjoyed traveling around spending time with family, friends and his special friend Lois.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Harris of Chadwick and Eric Harris of Milledgeville; two sisters, Brenda (Jim) Kerley of St. Charles and Sue Buthe of Loves Park; one brother, Bill Harris of Portland, OR.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bradley Harris; two brothers, Steve and Richard "Butch" Harris.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home, Milledgeville.
