STERLING – Helen I. Boostrom, 97, of Sterling, died Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Morningside of Sterling.
Helen was born April 1, 1928, in West Jersey, the daughter of Tom and Edna (Stutler) Florea and was a 1945 graduate of Toulon High School. She married Howard Boostrom on August 24, 1947, in Galva. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2018.
Survivors include son, Larry (Debra) Boostrom, of Rock Falls; daughter, Linda (Jerry) Heckler, of Sterling; 4 grandchildren: Amy (Todd) Sigel, Matthew (Taylor) Boostrom, Brian (Kristen) Williamson, and Jenna (Justin) Bradley; and 12 great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Peve; one daughter, Lori (Steve) Marcum; 3 sisters: Florence Franks, Annabelle Bocock and Pearl Caldwell; one brother, Alva; and two brothers passed in infancy, Earl and Albert.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Helen will join Howard "Together Forever" in a private service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Kewanee.
Memorials may be given in her memory to the Tampico United Methodist Church.
