Jack W Wilson, age 88, passed September 7, 2025 at his home. Jack was born August 19, 1937 in Marvel, Arkansas to Claudie (Holt) and Tilman Wilson. Both preceded him in death. Two brothers, Louis Norwood Wilson and George W Wilson also preceded him.
Jack proudly served in the US Marine Corp from 1955 to 1959 with service in the Far East. He then worked 30 years at Northwestern Steel & Wire mostly in the brick crew. He also served Steelworkers Local 63 as a grievance committeeman and was a Precinct Committeeman for the Democratic Party. Jack retired in 1990 as a Quality Improvement Process Facilitator. In retirement, Jack did a lot of volunteer work with the church, schools, and Senior Center. He also maintained numerous rental properties until his health failed.
On July 7, 1958 Jack married Jessie Mae Horton in Rock Falls. Jessie survives along with 5 children Jackie (Andy) Moore, Jeanette (Bob) Wright, Joy (Jerry) Hight, Julie (John) Dowd and Jonathan Wilson. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Alex (Christy) Moore, Andria (Matt) Keegan, Blair Wright (Tim Wiley), Wilson Wright, Kristi (Joe) Hahn, Nate (Maria) Henson, John Dowd Jr, and Jessica (Dan) Nance. 13 great grandchildren also survive. Jack loved them all and they will certainly miss him.
Jack was a charter member of the 16th Avenue Church of Christ in Sterling, IL.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sterling NICAA Golden Meals would be appreciated. His body was cremated and the cremains will be buried in Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls, IL. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home.
