Jeffrey P. Short, 56 Polo, passed away Sept. 26, 2025, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. Jeff was born, March 6, 1969, in Dixon, IL, the son of David Short Sr. and Irene (Thibeault) Short-Boelkens.
Jeff worked for Kable News in Mt. Morris for over 18 years. He attended Polo High School and was a very active member with the Polo Lions Club and the Cub Scouts. Jeff enjoyed helping the Lions with any function or activity they needed including being their Secretary and Treasurer for the last few years.
Survivors include: mother Irene Boelkens; sister: Renee Short of Dixon, IL; many Cousins, Aunts and Uncles.
He was preceded in death by father David; brother David Jr; grandparents Joe & Ethel Thibeault and Neil & Blanch Short.
Services: The funeral will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. Polo. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo, immediately following the funeral service. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Polo Family Funeral Home in Polo.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Polo Lions Club.

I am so sorry to hear of Jeff´s passing. He was a good friend. I will miss our conversations over coffee, the texts, and the many laughs we shared. Jeff´s laugh was genuine and infectious. I will miss him. May he rest in peace and comfort.
