Marlene E. Lohse age 88 of Amboy passed away on Friday May 30, 2025 at Dixon Rehab. She was born on March 22, 1937 in Kasbeer, IL the daughter of Lester and Beatrice (Spohn) Schwingle. Marlene was a school teacher at Amboy Public Schools and Faith Baptist School in Sterling, IL. She was a member of the East Grove Union Church in Amboy IL. Like her mother, Marlene played the piano filling the home and their church with the sound of music, especially hymns. Marlene married Richard "Dick" Lohse on Sept. 7, 1958 in Amboy. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2024. She is also preceded in death by her parents, son Jonathan Lohse, siblings Joyce Losey, Wayne Schwingle, Eugene Schwingle, Robert Schwingle, and Paul Schwingle. Marlene is survived by her children Jennifer (Patrick) Shannon of Unionville, OH, Brian (Mary) Lohse of Bondurant, IA, Janelle (Darrell) Elliott of Franklin Grove, eight grandchildren Ashley (Nathan) Clink, Kyle (Brooke) Shannon, Amber Shannon, Drake Lohse, Nicolas (Alea) Lohse, Grace Lohse, Brandi Elliott, Ashley Harris, and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services was on Sunday June 1, 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon with Pastor Rick Wulf officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Visitation was on Sunday June 1, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.
