Marvin G. Arians, 96, of Sterling, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Rockford, the son of R. Frank and Bertha (Nelson) Arians. He married Betty G. Boerema on Sept. 12, 1952, in Morrison. Marvin served in the Korean Conflict as a medic with the 7th division. He was honorably discharged in 1952 as a Master Sergeant.
He sold petroleum products for FS for 15 years. Then he entered the real estate business with the John Hanson Agency. It later became known as Century 21 Arians Realty. Marvin was a co-owner of Rocket Lanes Bowling Alley for 40 years. He was a member at New Life Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Marla (Chris) Arians-Esnard of Sterling; his sons, Mark (Patty) Arians, Mel (Dawn) Arians, both of Sterling; and Craig (LeAnn) Merkley of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Alan Arians, Chad Arians, Ryan Arians, and Maren Esnard; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Arians.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Wed., Nov. 19, 2025, at New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 11:00. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling with military honors. The family invites you to a luncheon at the church after the burial. Arrangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home.
