Mary A. Bullard, age 88 of Hinckley, IL passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 30, 1933 in Amboy, IL the daughter of George and Catherine (Sharkey) Schwamberger.
Mary was united in marriage on March 31, 1953 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, IL to Edward E. Bullard and they spent the next 46 years happily together until his passing June 21, 1999. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, IL. Mary was formerly employed as a secretary by the Hinckley Elementary School. She volunteered for many years at the Hinckley area schools and was very active with the Hinckley Sports Boosters. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
She is survived by her children, Debra Bullard of Maple Park, IL, John (Sheila) Bullard of Hinckley, IL, George (Deborah) Bullard of Hinckley, IL, Kelly (Tony) Hopp of Naperville, IL, Marty (Joy) Bullard of Downers Grove, IL, and Karla (John) Michels of Hinckley, IL; her grandchildren, Maribeth (Patrick) Barrett, Courtney Bullard, Zachary (Kenzie Coppes) Michels, Grace (Nicholas Hodgeman) Hopp, Greta Hopp, Tony Hopp, Jordan Bullard, Taylor Bullard, Connor Bullard, Jack Bullard, Kate Bullard, Ethan Bullard, and Grace Stella; her great-grandchildren, Evelyn Mary Michels and Paxton Michels; her brother, George (Barb) Schwamberger; her sisters, Marg Castle, Kay Bodmer, and Lu (Jim) Grady; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Schwamberger; her husband Edward Bullard; and her grandson, Ryan Michels.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 329 Pine St., DeKalb, IL with Father Dean Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery in DeKalb, IL.
Friends may visit from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St., Waterman, IL.
Memorials in Mary's name may be directed to the Hinckley Fire Department or the Hinckley Area Food Pantry.
