Noah "Dale" Erisman
Noah "Dale" Erisman, 90, of Franklin Grove, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at his home in Franklin Grove, surrounded by his family. He established Erisman Garage located in Franklin Grove in 1962, and operated the garage until his retirement in 1996.
Dale was born January 20, 1931, in Fairview, MO, the son of Wilbert and Ova (Davidson) Erisman. He married Frances Miller on August 27, 1955, in Franklin Grove. She preceded him in death on February 9, 1977. Dale married Elaine Nussbaum on November 4, 1986. She preceded him in death on August 27, 1993. He was a longtime member of Franklin Grove Church of the Brethren in Franklin Grove. He enjoyed hunting, feeding the birds and gardening. He was known for his famous caramel corn and chicken noodles around the holidays. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and his beloved dogs.
He is survived by his, four grandchildren, Nichole (Jeff) Burfield of Ashton, Stacy Erisman of Ashton, Patricia Cook of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jonathan Cook of Phoenix, AZ; five great-grandchildren, Megan Cheatham, Caitlin Cheatham, Cheyanne Cabrera, Kalyshia Howell, Reagan Cook; two great-great-grandchildren, Meadow Zies, Messiah Howell; one daughter-in-law, Susan Erisman of Franklin Grove; two brothers, Ethmer Erisman of Warrensburg, MO, Paul (Linda) Erisman of Franklin Grove; one sister, Esther (Maurice) Moeckley of Ankeny, Iowa and one brother-in-law, Don Elliott.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and two children, Dale "Gene" Erisman, Brenda Williams, three siblings and their spouses, Leota (Forrest) Gann, Fern Daniel (Dorothy) Erisman, and Nancy Ruth Elliot.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Ltd., Dixon, IL. A Memorial Service will be 1:00 pm, Friday, November 5, 2021, at Franklin Grove Church of the Brethren in Franklin Grove, IL, with Pastor Diana Verhulst, officiating. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Emmert Cemetery in Nachusa, IL.
