Norma Lee Jennings
Born: November 19, 1929 in Wynoka, OK
Died: December 3, 2024 in Mulberry, FL
Norma Jennings, 95, of Mulberry Florida, died Tuesday, December 3, 2024, after suffering a stroke and coming down with pneumonia.
Norma was born November 19, 1929, in Wynoka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jim and Stella Boyle.
At the age of 19, she started her career as a teacher in a one -room school with a wood burning stove for heat. In Como, Illinois she taught grades 1-3 and then relocated to Tampico, Illinois. After 38 years of teaching Norma retired from Tampico Grade School in 1995.
In 1997 she moved to Florida to be close to her children and lived with her daughter. She spent her days writing letters, reading the newspaper, talking with friends and playing games on her computer. She always had to be seated in her chair at 7 to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Some of the best years of her life were spent in Sterling, Illinois., and she loved telling stories about all of her students.
She will be missed by family and friends as we loved her so much.
There will be a celebration of her life after the holidays. We ask everyone to join us in this celebration by sending us a note, telling us how she is best remembered by you so that we may share your thoughts at her remembrance party.

Norma was a sparkling personality with a heart for people and a gift for teaching. I listed myself as a friend but i was also one of her students. The path of learning she set before me was and is foundational to my being.
My condolences to Debra, Stephen, and extended family

All these years and I still got a card and letter from her every Christmas!
