Pamela A. Fritz
Born: October 5, 1942 in Merrill, WI
Died: October 23, 2025 in Dixon, IL
Pamela Anne Fritz, age 83, went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with loved ones who went before her on October 23, 2025. Pamela passed peacefully with family by her side. She will be greatly missed by family and friends, who cherished her and the time they shared together.
Pamela was born on October 5, 1942, in Merrill, WI, the daughter of Robert C. and Dorothy A. (Bauman) Smith. She was a graduate of Milledgeville High School and Sterling Beauty School. Pamela was employed as a beautician in Milledgeville and Walnut.
Pamela's motto in life was Live, Laugh, Love and she followed this motto in all aspects of life. She was an extremely faith-filled and family-oriented woman. Spending time with family and friends brought her the greatest joy! Pamela was known for opening up her heart and home to all and pouring out her love to and for others. Pamela's children believed she had a direct line to God. When asked, Pamela prayed for one's needs or health concerns in the most loving way.
Pamela owned Fritz Ace Hardware, Fritz Asphalt Paving, Quality Sand and Gravel, Fritz Square, and Fritz Rental Properties. She was a member of Saint John the Evangelist's Catholic Church, where she volunteered time with the Altar and Rosary Society. Pamela was also a member of the Walnut Jr. Community Club, Walnut Rotary Club, Walnut Business Association, Walnut Chamber of Commerce, Community General Hospital Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. She started the Garden Club in the spring of 2025 at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center so residents could enjoy fresh produce; growing tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Pamela enjoyed crafting, cooking, baking (especially known for her cream puffs and making cakes for birthdays and graduation parties), camping, watching her family grow in faith, succeed academically, excel in their careers, and compete in sports. Pamela's family is convinced she will continue to support and cheer for her family from Heaven's sidelines.
Pamela is survived by her three children, Lisa (Peter) Becker of Schaumburg, Leanne (Ray Fairchild) Fritz of Bloomington, and Lonnie (Lindsey) Fritz of Morton; five grandchildren, Nick (Stephanie) Lange of Plainfield, IN, Colin Becker of Streamwood, Caitlin (Sebastian) Wiendl of Didcot, England, Brynn Fritz of Normal, and Brody Fritz of Morton; four great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Mason and Taylor Lange, of Plainfield, IN, and Liam Wiendl of Didcot, England, one stepgranddaughter, Cari (Adam) Trowitch Urbandale, IA; and her special friend and angel on earth, Mike Peach of Deer Grove.
