Died: February 1, 2023 in Rock Falls, IL
Patricia S. Simester, 79, of Rock Falls died Wednesday February 1, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. Patti was born February 17, 1943 in Sterling the daughter of Marion and Lillian (Plautz) Maxey.
Patti was raised on a farm in Pine Creek, and attended Polo Schools. She graduated from Polo High School in 1961. Patti then attended Western Illinois University where she was in the marching band, and graduated in 1965. She married William Simester on November 19, 1966 in Polo.
Patti was an avid golfer for many years and played in over 47 Lincoln Highway Tournaments. She has been the church organist at Rock Falls United Methodist Church since 1979. Patti was a teacher at Emerson and Nelson Schools. She loved her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her husband William Simester; one son Don (Mandy) Simester of Sterling; one daughter Deena Simester of Rock Falls; one sister Marlyn Breunig of Sun Prairie WI; one sister-in-law Tricia Maxey of Dixon; and three grandchildren Nick Simester, Madison Thatcher, and Katie Thatcher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother John Maxey.
Memorial service will be 2PM Saturday February 4, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service from 12PM-2PM.
A memorial has been established.
