Robert A. Dewey age 84 of Amboy passed away on Saturday Jan. 25, 2025. He was born on Dec. 12, 1940 in Amboy the son of Earl and Alice (Andrews) Dewey. Robert worked for Deans Foods for 34 years in Amboy and Dixon prior to his retirement. He was a scout master for Boy Scouts in Amboy, served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for 34 months from 1960 to 1962. He was a member of East Grove Union Church and First Baptist Church in Amboy. Robert married Patricia A. Shaw on Jan. 11, 1964 in Amboy. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2005. He is also preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clarence Dewey, Richard Dewey, sister Betty Thompson, and son-in-law Paul Albers. Robert is survived by his son Rob (Linda Knoll) Dewey of Amboy, daughter Roxanne Albers of Compton four grandchildren Amanda Wegstein, Chad (Suzy) Albers, Nick Dewey, Lindsey Dewey, six great grandchild Lilly, Dillion, Tristan, Liam, Everlee, and Nathan. Visitation will be on Wednesday Jan 29, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Funeral services will be on Thursday Jan. 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Burial will follow at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy. Memorial donations can be made to East Grove Union Church. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.
