Ruth Ann Draege, 89, joined her husband George, her parents, Cecil and Elizabeth Bonnell, two of her grandchildren, Dennis Toomsen and Joshua Crump, along with her eight brothers and sisters in heaven on July 22, 2024 at 3:20 pm. Being the youngest of nine children, Ruth enjoyed a special relationship with her parents. She often shared warm memories of growing up on a farm, surrounded by a large extended family. Ruth graduated from Lee Center High School in 1952. She worked as a nurse's aide until she earned her RN degree, all this while she and George raised their five children. Ruth and George enjoyed square dancing and traveling. (Their girls can tell you many stories about family car trips.) But more than that, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ruth is survived by her five children Susan Mooney of Oregon, IL; Sally (Aaron) Crump of Minocqua, WI; Barbara (Robert) Horst of Dripping Springs, TX; Beverly (Keith) Linzemann of Oregon, IL; and Chris Draege of Sublette, IL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Alan (Sandy) Toomsen, Sarah (Troy) McCauley, Matthew (Rebecca) Horst, Betty (Elias) Sotelo, Andrew Horst, Mihai Crump, and Gianna Crump; thirteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Ruth was a faithful member of Chana United Methodist Church in Chana, IL. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Chana United Methodist Church, 606 N. Main Street, Chana, Illinois with Pastor Joshua Brown officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, IL and Chana United Methodist Church, Chana, IL.
