Wanda Lucille (Engelbrecht) Bartlett - LaBonte, 82, of Franklin Grove, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon, IL after a short illness.
Wanda was born May 25, 1939, in Amboy, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Hilbert) Engelbrecht. She attended and graduated beauty school in Champaign. Wanda owned and operated her own hair salon for 50 years. She married James LaBonte on July 5, 1987, in Franklin Grove. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2007. Wanda was a life long member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon. She was past member of the Moose Lodge #727 and Lee County Women's Home Extension. She enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, collecting pewter statues and viewing the Bison at the Nachusa Grasslands. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her, five children, Curtis (Debra) Bartlett, Brian Bartlett, Katherine Schwarz, Steve (Patricia Hutson) Bartlett, Richard (Michelle) Bartlett all of Franklin Grove; three step-children, James (Barbara) LaBonte of Hayward, WI, Holly (Jerry) Smith of Spencer, WI, Robin Deen of Eau Claire, WI; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Lamb of TX, and Marilyn Bruce of WI.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; one son Christopher Bartlett; grandson, Jason Alan Bartlett; two brothers Gene and Robert Engelbrecht; daughter-in-law Jeri Lyn Bartlett; and father of her children, Frank Bartlett.
A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon with Father Richard Kramer, officiating. Private Burial will be at a later date at Franklin Grove Cemetery in Franklin Grove, IL. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
A memorial has been established.
