Adrian A. "Zip" Billings

Adrian A. Zip Billings - LUDOWICI - Adrian A. Zip Billings, 91, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011. He was born in Newington, GA and had lived in Ludowici for the past 70 years. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He and his wife owned and operated the Billings Service Station, Zip and Doris' Bait House and Doris' Bar-B-Q in Ludowici for many years. Mr. Zip had served on the Ludowici City Council for the past 20 years until his death; a member of the Altamaha Masonic Lodge #227; a Shriner and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ludowici. Survivors are his wife of 44 years, Doris Barrett Billings of Ludowici; a son Charles and Jane Billings of Ludowici; two daughters, Nancy Branham of Jasper, TN and Joan and Wendell Theus of Ludowici; six grandchildren including Jeremy Theus of Ludowici and Wendy Barker of Columbia, SC, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 form 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Ludowici. Interment will follow in the Baggs Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church Ludowici Building Fund Hwy 301 North Ludowici, GA 31316.
