Austina Norris Obituary

Austina 'Tina' Will Norris, 95, passed away peacefully this September 2, 2018 at her home on Isle of Hope in Savannah, Georgia . With her husband, Jack Clayton Norris, Jr. who preceded her in death, this would have been their 71st wedding anniversary She was born February 25, 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland to Reverend Theodore St. Clair and Mary Eleanor Hardinge Will. They, along with her brother Theodore St. Clair Will and her sister, Eleanor Caithness Will Kuser also predeceased her.

Graduating from Washington Seminary, Atlanta, and attending Stephens College, Columbia,

Missouri, Tina was married following Jack's return from US Naval Service during WWII. She and Jack resided in Atlanta until they moved with their three children to Savannah in 1960.

Throughout her life, Tina embraced a number of different professions. As a member of the Civil Air Patrol during WWII, she acted as a spotter for enemy planes. She also co-owned a catering business, was one of the early tour guides for Historic Savannah, and retired after selling real estate for over 30 years.

Tina lived a long, full life surrounded by family, friends, and her community, especially St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where she played an active role and was past president of the Altar Guild. Tina also served on the board of Rabin Gap-Nacoochee School in Rabin Gap, Georgia and the Episcopal Home for Girls in Savannah. She made her debut in Atlanta and was Vice President of the Debutante Club. Tina was a member of the Parkersburg Garden Club and the Savannah Junior League and former member of the Atlanta Junior League. Anyone fortunate enough to know Tina, would be struck by how kind, peaceful, and sincere she always remained. Her faith and character shaped a strong, loving family and community.

She is survived by her three children, Eleanor St. Clair Norris Craver (Ted), Sarah Parsons Norris Eve, and Jack Clayton Norris Ill (Daphne); five grandchildren, Dancy St. Clair Eve Dickson (Baker), Sarah Hammond Eve Deloach (Michael), Carrie Elsa Norris, Jack Clayton Norris IV, Austin Wesley Norris; and one great-grandchild, Sarah Avaleen Dickson, and numerous nieces and nephews from the West to East Coast.

Tina's service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday,September 7, 2018 at St. Thomas Episcopal

Church, 2 St. Thomas Avenue, Isle of Hope. The service will be conducted by The Reverend Melanie Lemburg. Burial will follow at St. Thomas' Memorial Garden.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2 St. Thomas Avenue, Savannah, Ga. 31406 or Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, Ga. 31416.
